SEOUL (AFP, THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Two South Korean apartment buildings heavily occupied by members of a sect linked to most of the country's coronavirus cases have been quarantined after dozens of residents tested positive for the disease, an official said on Saturday (March 7).
The move comes as the country, which has the highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the world outside China, reported 448 new infections, taking its total to 7,041.
Another two deaths were reported by the Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, bringing the toll to 44.

I wonder what the death toll is in North Korea. They are ‘sandwiched’ between 2 hot spots.
Probably N Korea like in South Korea the death rate is low, only 0.6 percent because they are actually testing people instead of making up numbers ..meanwhile in the US, over 50 thousand deaths this season alone from “normal” flu virus, and no quarantines, canceled events or run on toilet paper as a result..

The truth is that it is not nothing, that it has killed far less than the flu has for now but with its rate of spread even if it has the same percentage of kill as the flu it would be devastatingly bad, and that even though the Left has taken advantage of this to hit our President (and the economic hit that may emanate from this may be his toughest challenge this November) it doesn’t mean that the danger is not real. This is why the President names the Vice President as the person to lead the effort against CB19, and personally signed $8.3 billion as emergency relief yesterday! Unless FReepers know of deep state conspiracies the President is unaware of, President Trump is spending real money to fight something some people here think is nothing.
I pray those FReepers are right and this is just hysteria, because to my eyes they seem like some silly Africans who were saying Ebola is nothing but a hoax/propaganda in 2014.
If they are wrong, elections in November will be the last thing in anyone’s minds. I invest across the globe in PE, and the significant shutdowns I have seen (especially in China) make me truly believe that there is definitely SOMETHING that has ABSOLUTELY panicked the Chinese. Enough for them to lockdown over 60 million people! And similarly panicked the Japanese, French and Italians, enough for them to close down schools.
The behavior of some FReepers reminds me of b-rate Zombie horror movies where there is also some idiot claiming the shuffling moaning things slowly moving towards the town are nothing.
Anyway, I don’t care what people say. I only care what they do, and the actions China and other countries at the forefront of this have taken make me believe this is NOT a joke.
I hope those that think it’s nothing are correct, because if they are wrong then the American health system is about to be severely tested, the economy as well, and thankfully the President is trying to do something to stop CV19. If he thought it was ‘nothing’ like some FReepers think, then CV19 is the one thing that could make him lose in November. Fortunately he’s trying to do something.
