Interesting article that explains the reaction by both sides to the unfolding saga of the corona virus. 70% will refuse to see disasters as disasters until it's too late. Of the them the article states "most people move dazedly through normal activities in a crisis"

They can't figure out why they can't get people to panic over 'man-made global warming'.
If they can't get people to panic people won't 'demand action'.

Bad example, man made global warming is BS and people can see it.

People b1tch about normalcy bias for stuff they think people should be freaking out about.
When have we seen a normalcy bias article from someone wanting to stop over a million kids being murdered by women and ‘doctors’ each year?
Or about politicians saying they are patriots as they infringe and take away more actual, enumerated constitutional rights?
Or about perverts of all stripes and their enablers and followers forcing theirbs on normal, sane people?

Actually the coronavirus is not a good example here. In this country it is wise and prudent to ignore the frantic flailing antics of those who would hype up the hysteria.

About 70% of people in a disaster do it
They even tend to quiet and calm the 10-15% of people who freak out.
The downside of the bias is the fact that they tend to retard the progress of the 10-15% of people who act appropriately.
Those are the three important things in this article. Be alert, think about things before they might happen, and dont let the 85% of people who cant figure it out bother you. That said:
BUFFALO JUMP!!!
KILL BOX!!!!
PANDEMIC!!!!
GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT!!!!!!

Actually the coronavirus is not a good example here. In this country it is wise and prudent to ignore the frantic flailing antics of those who would hype up the hysteria. I don't know. I think it's the perfect example. When I saw all of the extreme unprecedented measures that every country on earth has taken to stop or slow this I assumed that the alternate would be disaster. The alternate being that it spreads.
It's still spreading.

Good article. I think fear paralysis because people are on their own is one of the causes. BTTT.

Good article. I think fear paralysis because people are on their own is one of the causes. BTTT. Our own government has been telling us for the last 3 weeks that we may be on our own. They've been saying to prepare by at least having 2 weeks worth of food and water, meds, and a plan of what to do if loved ones get sick. We're on a sinking ship and the crew is telling us to put on our lifejackets.
