One HAS to wonder why more people don’t understand that:

“Sticks and stones may break my bones,
“But your words will never hurt me!”

I wonder how many suicides happen because of evil people saying hateful things on the so-called “social media” to people who are not mentally strong enough to press through the hard times?

Suicide may be the highest form of self hatred, but IMHO, one MUST NOT let what other people think and say cause that hatred.

It may be trite, but Polonius’ admonition to his son Laertes: “To thine own self be true” just might have some meaning in today’s world! (https://www.enotes.com/shakespeare-quotes/thine-own-self-true)

That was not Shakespeare. It was a character Shakespeare considered a fool.
