The same judges that ruled 2 to 1 against Trump...stayed their order until Trump can appeal.
I live in Northern Kentucky. We have the best judges in the country, our federal judges are Jim Bunnings son and a veteran judge now on senior status. The old guy is no nonsense wise and intimidating.
He presided over the Sandman v CNN matter. I have no direct knowledge, save experiance with this guy.
I imagine CNN trotted in some big caliber suits, expecting a quick dismissal. After some preliminary discovery a first conference was scheduled. The good judge probably interrupted the CNN suits and said something like “ This matter is going to a jury, where you have a well behave child being trashed and savaged by you media whores. And if you have any brains at all you’ll offer this guy $X or I my direct a verdict in his favor”
And poof, to the suprise of everybody, it quickly settled, and Sandman has a huge balance in his checking account.
If the SCOTUS already ruled that it’s legal, why would Trump need to appeal this lower court ruling?
