I don’t recall ever hearing the term “Deep State” before Trump was elected.

I also do not recall senior government executives ever conspiring to remove or destroy a Democrat president.

As to inertia and entropy, I think the social sciences need to invent their own vocabulary instead of expropriating words from the basic sciences.

In 2020, the Deep State is guided by Hard Left political ideology - nothing more, nothing less.

I've seen it been used before Trump, but only in a general context about bureaucrats opposing change, etc

Are you suggesting that basic science doesn’t appropriate words from other areas of thought (e.g. as in Greek thought about transformations)? I could be wrong but don’t think Rudolph Clausius or his ilk invented the word.
