Since the CDC has refused to test for community spreading...

That's not true.

I know that the CDC tested in the UC Davis case.

The test kits have 3 parts the last part was the inaccurate one and you needed all three to be positive or negative the CDC and the FDA just released guidance this week use part one and two forget 3 if your lab doesn’t meet some internal criteria so they intend to use the existing tests and make more with a better third reagent. Either way we lost three weeks of surveillance and now there is at least 4 clusters they have found forming two in California, one each in Oregon and Washington state. DC has a pending test that meets the new criteria could be.a traveler from not.China they won’t say other than they fall under the new testing guidance, NYS has 6 I think. Dallas has 10 that I know of in Parkland I used to.date anight icu nurse they are under media gag orders and hippa but she could say they gave ten that have severe respiratory syndrome without positive influenza tests so those ten should meet the new.guidelines as well.

Yes the UC Davis case was the straw the broke the camels back. They refused for a week to test that person due to them NOT meeting the old have to have been in China guidelines or have been near a CDC confirmed case. They had to eat crow and they changed the guidelines hours after that test came back positive. UC Davis has been only using droplet transmission protocols so they sent home a dozen workers to self isolation they need to start testing those people too. Droplet protocols are not enough for an aerosol virus they just admitted that by sending the staff to isolation the Chinese and Koreans already have said its aerosolized and you need those protocols which is full.face masks at a P100 or higher level.

That's not true either. The CDC said today at the press briefing that they found out about the case on the 23rd and that they recommended testing for COVID-19 on that same day.

UC Davis disputes that they requested on the 19th this patient was at another hospital already came to UCD already in a ventilator on 19th they wanted to test then. Clearly they show the buck being passed back and forth till the 23rd.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wired.com/story/community-spread-coronavirus/amp

The UC Davis memo explains the delay in testing by noting that neither Sacramento County nor the city of Davis’ public health agency performs the test. The hospital had to request the CDC do it. “Since the patient did not fit the existing diagnostic criteria for Covid-19, a test was not immediately administered,” the memo says. On Sunday the CDC did the test, and UC Davis put the patient on more stringent airborne and contact infection control precautions. “Today the CDC confirmed the patient’s test was positive.”

There is another big piece of information. They show that droplet protocol is not enough to stop possible infection.

From the above link

On Sunday the CDC did the test, and UC Davis put the patient on more stringent airborne and contact infection control precautions. “Today the CDC confirmed the patient’s test was positive.”

The UC Davis memo also confirms that the hospital has treated other patients infected with Covid-19 and said that the precautions it had taken with the patient all along probably meant “minimal potential for exposure.” Nevertheless, “out of an abundance of caution, in order to assure the health and safety of our employees, we are asking a small number of employees to stay home and monitor their temperature.”

Neither the CDC nor UC Davis Health System returned calls requesting comment.

The UC Davis memo is very vague and really doesn’t contradict what the CDC said at the press briefing. The CDC was very specific today saying that they responded to the request and tested the patient on the same day.

Good thing they did finally start testing for community spreading....

3 more cases this’ll be coming quick now.

A high school student in WA and a school worker in Oregon those schools will be clusters in days bank on it.

If people do not have a months food they are behind the curve by now the storm is on the horizon and the winds have shifted.

It’s irrelevant entire way that patient didn’t meet the criteria at the time and prior to that one test no other community spreading had been tested for. That case caused the.guidelines to.change the CDC said in a earlier story that they caught that case and desided to test due to.astute physicians they used the exact word astute should be able to Google for that article the ending fact is before 2/23 the CDC own guidelines prohibited the testing of people who did not come.from China or have a confirmed positive contract. This UC Davis was thr.first and they admit that as well. So that shows they have no idea how wide spend community spreading is they have not looked for it period full stop prior to 2/23 they have zero surveillance.

My family is like yours, no not mormon We have 6 months or more of food two water purification systems, bottles of those tablets that make water safe, 2 UV lamps and some ammo for guns lost in a boating accident, boxes of not masks and several full face masks with boxes of replacement filters.

My only fear is we may not have enough scotch and vodka but, can resort to making hooch with canned fruit...if desperate conditions require

Given the world we live in it’s almost insanity to not have at least two weeks of supplies and a month or two of meds. Depending on where you live floods, hurricanes, blizzards, volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, plague, civil unrest, world war, nuclear terrorism/war, biological warfare, asteroids,AI becoming self aware spawning killer drones, nanotechnology goes rouge...the list is long I went most likely to fring

Wall Street reacted to measures being taken which caused production/supply issues - gonna be a lot of money made when folks who sold high get to buy back in low, and target industries that will naturally profit from the situation.

Apple is buying back a lot of its stock on the low because they know things will zoom again once all is sorted out and they will profit bigly when things straighten out.

Dogs can get covid19 that was confirmed in Hong Kong today.

Stop that. A *dog* (singular) tested "weak positive" for COVID-19. There is no evidence that a dog can transmit COVID-19.

Be precise in what you write.

I never said a dog could transmit the virus you said that. I specifically said dogs can get the virus which the case in Hong Kong shows. If one was able to catch the bug then the canis species has the necessary receptors to the virus to get infected its that simple. We love our pets like children if they can catch it then some precautions would be in order. Now cross species transmission is an interesting subject if this bug is like SARS which it is not very far on the genetic spectrum from then the viral load need for initial infection is likely similar to SARS. Which like other RNA viri only takes a few hundred virons to initiate the initial infection. Having close and intimate contact with ones beloved pet such as letting then lick ones face or hand then touching ones face would transfer thousands of virons but no one knows for sure how many would be present in canine saliva I would think HK would test just that with a pcr test. This virus has a natural harbor in other mammals so it would appear that a wide number of mammal can incubate this form of coronavirus. I would hate for my dog to get sick and die so keeping her away from people and other dogs for a while would be a rational course of action.
