When Democratic front-runner Bernie Sanders couldn't get the math on his healthcare plan to add up in Tuesday night's debate, he just resorted to lying.
Sanders came under fire in the debate because he has proposed a plan to offer free insurance to all that would require a net of $32 trillion in new tax revenue, and yet, his proposed tax hikes, as sweeping as they are, would generate only $17.5 trillion, according to his campaign. That's a gap equivalent to about four years of the entire federal budget.
In the midst of a contentious back-and-forth, Sanders eventually delivered the following whopper: "What every study out there, conservative or progressive, says: Medicare for All will save money. "
That statement is not remotely true.
The liberal Urban Institute found that, while the United States would spend $52 trillion under the status quo (when all government and private spending is taken into account) under his healthcare plan, we'd spend $59 trillion. The issue is that, even if having a single government payer would mean consolidating expenses, Sanders has promised that his plan would offer full medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision coverage without charging any premiums, copayments, or deductibles. After weighing these offsetting effects, the study concluded, "The increase in spending for people with this new generous coverage would outweigh the savings from lower prices for healthcare providers and lower administrative costs."
Emory University health finance expert Kenneth Thorpe, looking at an earlier version of the Sanders plan, found that "over 70% of working privately insured households would pay more under a fully funded single-payer plan than they do for health insurance today."
The Rand Corporation has found that health spending in the U.S. would increase 2% in the first year a Sanders-type program was in effect.

or how about this one - won’t raise taxes on those <29,000 / yr but then says institute 15 $ hour minimum wage (mandatory) which is 29,000 / yr. So then ALL Full-time will have taxes raised...
Yes, he’s that dishonest and thinks we are that stupid.
Problem is — many are.
Bernie is a LIEberal!
LIEberals LIE!
If they don’t LIE, they don’t get elected!
So, they LIE!
Go figure!
Did I mention that LIEberals LIE?
Your looking at a minimum of $60 Trillion over the next 10 years, more like $80 or more in my opinion.
Then a few months ago Bernie actually said what it would take in taxes, then backtracked just as fast. He said this;
we would need:
a 41 cent National Sales Tax
29% in more payroll deductions and last Higher Taxes on the top 5%.
That is the real cost!
I saw the following in another article. Totally stunning. They would have to confiscate ALL family assets for his proposals and even that would not be enough.

“Yet these $23 trillion in proposed taxes would still leave a staggering $90 trillion budget deficit, or 34 percent of GDP. Closing the rest of the gapwhich comes to $66,000 per household annuallyis basically impossible.
Given that Sanders already maximizes taxes on the wealthy, that leaves the payroll tax or a value-added tax (VAT) to raise the rest. The CBO claims that each 1 percentage-point increase in the payroll tax raises $0.9 trillion over the decade, thus requiring an extra 100 percent rate on top of the 27.2 percent proposal. Alternatively, a European-style VAT would raise $0.4 trillion per percentage point, thus requiring an absurd 225 percent tax rate to close the remaining $90 trillion budget gap.
Cutting defense spending to NATOs European target of 2 percent of GDP would save just $3 trillion.
Even seizing all $82 trillion in household financial assets would be insufficient.
Crazy Bernie is a bum, a shitty legislator who’s never held a real job in his life. Not surprising he is no different than most politician in that he is a pathological liar.
However, he does have his Santa Claus message down pat - free shit for everything and big corporations and the rich are gonna pay for it. The devil is always in the details, but the Bern Bots don’t care so long they get their free shit.
Cost analysis is one thing. Another analysis is about personal freedom. Statist solutions are always “one size fits all”. The rub for Bernie’s solution is similar to that of Obamacare. One cannot simply opt out of the healthcare system. Thus, everyone must pay whether they want the “benefits”, or not.
When Medicare was implemented the Politicians said it would never cost more than $400,000,000 a year, ever...
The lie is the WEAPON used most often by the criminal. Right Barry, Hillary?
Not unusual. There are only three ways
democrats can win elections:
Lying
Character assassination
Voter fraud
He’s a Dumbocrap what do you expect?
Lying is stock in trade for socialists and communists.
Having trouble understanding. If he institutes raising min wage to a mandatory 15$/hr you say this is 29,000/yr but how does this then translate to all full time will have taxes raised?
Is it because at that income you automatically pay more tax? Not getting it and want to.
15$/Hr x 40/Hrs week = 600
600 x 4 weeks/month = 2400$
2400$/month x 12 = 28,800.
Consider that the IRS labels other benefits (like health care plan, or any other things than base pay) taxable. So you are right at 29K/Yr.
Now since ANY full time worker will now get 29K, then they don’t fall below the income on which Bernie will raise your taxes.
Very convenient Bernie, so, you won’t raise taxes on the average working man, but then you move the yardsticks so that you WILL raise his taxes.
Short answer is Bernie lies, there is no free lunch.
I see that now thank you. But it would still be not much, but yes your right. bottom line Itll raise taxes..
Bernie Sanders has been a career politician his entire life, therefore hes lied and changed his sorry as convenient his entire life To do whatever he feels the need to get reelected.
Communists and lying?
You’ve got to be kidding.
Communists and lying?
You’ve got to be kidding.
