The U.S. Air Force is changing its song to be gender-neutral as the service grows more diverse and adds more women across its ranks.
Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein made the announcement Thursday during the Air Warfare Symposium in Florida, alongside Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright.
Goldfein said the change applies to the third verse of the U.S. Air Force Song, sometimes known as "Wild Blue Yonder," which is traditionally sung at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and often performed independently of the other verses.

Verse III is now:Here's a toast to the host
Of those who love the vastness of the sky,
To a friend we send a message of the brave who serve on high.
We drink to those who gave their all of old,
Then down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.
A toast to the host of those we boast, the U.S. Air Force!
The old version went, "A toast to the host of the men we boast."

I understand your position. I take solace in the fact that when a previous CSAF pushed to get the term “airman” changed because there are females serving, he got an earful from the females, most of whom said, “I am proud to be an Airman, leave it alone!”.
Why wasn't she fired for bringing undue notriority to the company then? No wait let me guess.

even the flintstone’s theme stays the same...
Well, that’s not very inclusive. What about Foreshippersons and Aftshippersons?
He may be a good guy, I don’t know anything about him...BUT HE WORKS WITH DENTISTS!!!!
I think I would agree with you, though never having served in a combat function myself.
CMSAF's have my full respect period.
I get SO bummed being associated with the USAF when I hear of things like this.
How about TransFUBAR?????
He served as a Professional Military Education instructor and has held various senior enlisted positions while serving at squadron, group, wing, Task-Force and Numbered Air Force levels.I also noticed that he has since 2013 Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Project Management Institute with a 2010 Master Certificate in Project Management, Villanova University
I was PMP certified at Verizon but it lapsed after I retired. That is World Class Program and Project management professional knowledge. Cool Beans!
In other news, the last line of John Magees High Flight has been changed to Put out my hand and touched the face of Allah.
I was joking...it apparently is where he started out...
Really, it was a joke.
Where words can mean anything they can also mean nothing.
Someone should ask the fruit what are “they” going to do next week when the libgods change it again.
It's not so bad. According to Springer.com:
Of the countries included in our study, unions for military personnel exist in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, and The Netherlands. But you're right, it's disheartening.
And, there it is. I attended, and graduated from, three colleges. To this day I have no idea what any of their school songs are.
Well, I did look up your Master Chief of the Navy and he is a total warrior, from starting in Weapons to Intelligence up to DIA.
Your prerogative...
Buck up, homes. Those days are gone. Forever.
