“There are a lot of people who are going to be wondering what to do with all of the cans of soup and rolls of toilet paper when this blows over.”
Because when this is over you’re not going to use toilet paper anymore?
Ewww...
BTW, we always eat soup. It’s a quick lunch when we’re busy doing other stuff. Store what you use, use what you store.

Because maybe there’s a lot more to this than they are willing to tell us peasants.
That is a very good question btw.

What does it hurt to have extra of items you/your family will use/eat/need, anyhow?
When I lived in Michigan everybody stocked up on TOILET PAPER! Entire basements filled with 24 roll packs of TOILET PAPER. The one thing you don't want to run out of in a blizzard.

I have not noticed this at all but did have trouble finding hand sanitizer at Walmart yesterday. I did get some but most had been sold.

Maybe all the unused face-masks can be used as coffee filters?

Nah.
Keep a few and donate the rest to salvation army and samaritans purse. mission related organizations that do medical clinic stuff in africa and other poor countries would probably love donations of unopened boxes of masks.
To: polymuser
Maybe coffee filters will soon be used for masks...for those who didn't buy any, in advance 🤷♀️
Funny pics, coming out of Asia....of folks improvising.

I’ve wondered about using something like a dehydrator to ‘clean’ masks and other stuff. mine has temp settings every 5deg from 120F to 150F. This virus probably hates those temps.

Their timing for this new product wasn't so great....😷

In other news I went to order a second WaterBob (bathtub water storage) cuz I wanted to add one for the cabin. I have one of those for short-term use. Plenty of options out there though to make high volume water filters that are relatively inexpensive too.

To be clear: stock up, but go ahead and get frozen food, etc.”
I would go ahead and stock up too.
Not because they are going to run out or it is the end of world. Just so you don’t have to go around someone sick if this does to turn to be highly contagious.
They really do not have the facts on this, it is a new virus. We can only go by what is happening in other countries.

Midday run today Main grocer and Walmart. Busy, however it’s Friday. Hba, housewares, hardware, comp, pets, grocery (both stores) all fully stocked. Fuel prices about lowest this year.
