How do they tell one “corona” virus from another?

According to Wiki, it’s related to SARS.
Seems like to me there are many other ‘corona’ viruses besides COVID-19, that are just relatively harmless “cold” viruses.
More people have died world-wide from influenza virus this season than have died from covid-19, but the ‘panic’ is being instilled on purpose...............
I used to listen to Bruce Williams on the radio at night, just before the late Art Bell’s Coast-To-Coast program.
He was a multi millionaire and had a financial call-in program. He told the story of a wealthy female good friend of his that called him on Black Monday, the 1987 crash.
