We’ll never know the exact numbers, but I don’t trust statistics emanating from any government - let alone the ChiComs. It’s in their national interest to lie about the magnitude of the problem.

I have to say this “Falon Gung and the horse you rode in on.”
Only one of these organizations has killed tens of millions of Chinese, after gaining complete control of it, and it’s not the Falungong.
I understand that, and the Falun Gong were also systematically killed to harvest their organs, but Falun Gong/Dafa has a large presence outside of China, a lot of money, and runs pretty sophisticated propaganda efforts (e.g. their Shen Yun dance troupe that is constantly touring around the U.S.). On the positive side, the Epoch News is pretty pro Trump and pretty conservative.
I’ve mainly run into Falun Dafa in places like Taiwan where they are a presence, usually at tourist spots and downtowns with tables and signs, they often give out free bottled water also. They are ok and relatively polite/friendly, but they can be really irritating also when they get in your face and you are not in the mood to listen to their spiel, they are kind of like a Chinese version of the Hare Krishna. (Although their beliefs of course are totally different.)
I don’t care if 99% of the Chinese population dies so long as no or few Americans do. We should rush the vaccine and share it with them once we have one, close our borders during the interim. Protect Americans First.
The world believed coronavirus was mostly contained....then the new cases in South Korea, Iran and Italy popped up unexpectedly with many people having traveled in and out of those regions to other parts of the world.
Now, if it can be contained in those areas and we do not see a new set of infections, it will be over in months.
If not, this could be an ongoing battle for most of the year.

That’s a tough one. They are Falun Gong and really have it out for China after the ChiComs captured a few of their reporters. I haven’t seen anything too off-kilter though. They do seem to have sources in China.

Given that what communists attempted to do was the economic equivalent of cold fusion, economists predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union pretty much since the Bolshevik Revolution. And ~74 years after its ascension to power, the CPSU’s hold on power went away in 1991. China’s Communist Party came to power in 1949. 2020 marks its 71st year in power. Given the Chinese predilection for numerology, you can bet that both party rivals and influential men not currently in government are individually getting their acts together in preparation for the big game - a competition for the throne similar to what brought the party to power in 1949.
The potential for a new cycle of revolts followed by regime collapse is why Xi Jinping worries about this disease, the way he worries about every aspect of Chinese society that might threaten his rule. The fact that it is now acknowledged as a very big deal means that potential Chinese rivals are now looking at challenging his rule. Big crises have traditionally been the equivalent of a dinner bell or the report of a starter’s gun for ambitious Chinese power contenders because they signal regime vulnerability. China is entering a period of potential regime collapse, and Xi knows it.

A Korean Aircrew member just tested positive. They traveled routes via LAX. How many infected? Where are they now and who are they infecting? It may be too late, but we need to more proactively shut down travel to/from these infected countries or require mandatory quarantine for everyone coming here from anywhere overseas. Maybe institute 30 day quarantine for EVERYONE arriving from outside the US.

I've followed the Chinese church for over twenty years and they are highly organized, but secretive. Their goal isn't the overthrow of the government, but the conversion of people to Christianity. Some unofficial sources within the church list their numbers at over one hundred million.

Italy has not tracked down patient zero yet, so their outbreak has unknown origins...but it is exploding there with hundreds of infections.

I have been trying to figure that out. I guess we will not know the true percentage until after the fact.
On the BNO website I have been using the Number of Cases and Death column to calculate. South Korea looks to be 1%, they are pretty good testers.
To get the true percentage, you have to include how many who were infected that did not seek treatment with the number of reported cases.
Shandong province is south of Beijing and north of Shanghai.
This means that Beijing is about to get hit hard.
