President Trump said in an early-morning tweet on Wednesday that he will hold a news conference at 6 p.m. to address his administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the post, he continued to blame the media and Democrats for overstating the danger of the disease, even as health experts have warned of its spread.
Trump accused MSNBC and CNN of "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible." The president initially misspelled the name of the virus.
He insisted the U.S. is "in great shape" in its handling of the disease, adding that he and health officials will hold a news conference at the White House on Wednesday evening.

There aren’t enough free ICU beds to treat the serious cases.
It isn’t ‘the elderly’.
One of the French cases who died this morning/yesterday was a ‘Frenchman’ (ie, white) who was 60. 60 isn’t ‘elderly’. Most 60yr olds still go to work every day.
There are 30 somethings with this on ventilators.
Mortality with THIS virus seems to be around 2%. The ‘flu’ has a mortality of about 0.07%.
2% mortality is about that of the Spanish Flu of 1918.
And STILL we have 46 states withOUT testing kits for this and ONLY test people who have recently arrived from China. In spite of Italy, Iran, SK and Japan having extensive human 2 human transmission involving non-china exposure.
In this case the virus is actually way more of a threat than the ‘common cold’ or even ‘the flu’.
There aren’t many cases here officially because the CDC isn’t actually testing anyone. 46 states STILL don’t have testing kits for this and we STILL aren’t testing anyone who isn’t a recent arrival from China.
In this case the choice isn’t A, virus meaningless CDC trying to get trump. The choice is B. virus is serious, CDC trying to get trump.

I’m a small business owner in the service industry. Hype on something like this turns what was looking like an awesome year into a trainwreck. So yea, I’m a bit sensitive to the stupidity and overhype.
I guess if you work for some big company, or the govt, the hype is fun and exciting to watch and you probably will never feel the consequences of it.
Folks like us are on the frontlines taking the incoming of every overblown story and conspiracy theory. That CDC presser yesterday was unbelievably irresponsible. “Epect major disruptions in your daily routine”....unreal.

Truly! I’m ashamed of how many immediately swallow the democrats’ hook! If Trump was handing out mask on street corners and proclaiming the end of the world, they’d attack him for causing panic. If his government is restricting travel, treating the sick and working on a vaccine....well, “HE’S NOT DOING ENOUGH! WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!”
What can be done is being done. But we are NOT China. We are NOT Iran. I believe in God and I trust free markets 1,000 times more than the Chinese government. If it hits us, we’ll handle it better than any other country would or could!

They want to pin something on Trump. The problem is if they hype this they could set-off panic in cities.
You can imagine the rumors of blacks and Hispanics being ignored or worse, targeted by the President and then the 'riots for justice'.
Schumer is now asking for $8.5 billion to combat this virus. If the President doesn't give him the amount he wants and it gets worse, Trump will be accused of not providing funding to stop the epidemic.
This could be a political landmine.

Hype hasn’t destroyed the supply chains from China.
China did that herself.
China quarantined hundreds of millions of people over this virus.
I can’t remember them doing that over ‘a cold’ or ‘the flu’.
They literally dug up the roads out of Wuhan.
Even if a single American never dies from this a recession is baked into the cake.
China is a single point of failure for every single developed nation’s economy.
This isn’t ‘democrat hype’, this is the fault of the free traitors sending all our manufacturing to China or making any manufacturing here dependent largely on Chinese parts.
Or Asian in general. South Korea is where China was a month ago.
And how many times have we been told there is nothing there, trust us, only to find out differently a bit later?

CDC employees cried when Trump was elected.

The media has spent the last 3 years trying to convince the world that Trump is a russian agent....and yet amazingly there are Freepers who feel that the media using coronavirus to destroy Trump is tin foil hat material and a road too far.

The administration needs to ensure that all public statements come from the leadership, not employees and make sure it is accurate and transparent. Suspend or fire the Deep State traitors. Maybe send them on fact finding trips to Wuhan. Yes, that is what should occur!

What is your definition of media?
I do not think Freepers get their news from ABC, Fox, CNN, CBS, Washington Times.
Was the main stream media hyping up the virus before the last couple of days? I really do not know if they were or not. I do not have cable.
I get my news from other sources. For virus data: BNO News and Hopekins. As far as what is going on in China, I get that news from my Wife’s relatives and other leak social media. If you look at the reported data there are 78,000 people infected. A lot of folks believe that data is extremely under reported.
We need to watch South Korea, and Europe data to see what the real status of the virus is. South Korea data does not look good.
That will never happen.
The swamp is here to stay.
Did my duty. Called both Senators to remind them that only Chelsea Clinton, Rod Rotherstein’s sister and Romney claim we aren’t doing a good job with this virus.
They’re not going to use ‘hype’ to get him with this.

Lets chat about it now. Flu season will be over in about another month. This coronavirus does not do well in the heat and its going to warm up soon. Lets chat about how viruses mutate. They generally mutate weaker not stronger so that is why they peak and then die out.
The simple fact is that most people who get the coronavirus recover completely. There isn’t going to be an epidemic here in the US. In a month or so it won’t even make the news cycle.
All this hype is an attempt to crash our markets and wound our economy.
