President Trump said in an early-morning tweet on Wednesday that he will hold a news conference at 6 p.m. to address his administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the post, he continued to blame the media and Democrats for overstating the danger of the disease, even as health experts have warned of its spread.
Trump accused MSNBC and CNN of "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible." The president initially misspelled the name of the virus.
He insisted the U.S. is "in great shape" in its handling of the disease, adding that he and health officials will hold a news conference at the White House on Wednesday evening.

If you read my comments on the COVID-19 you'll see I am not promoting it as an end of mankind pandemic.
My point is Democrats could try to use it to scare people to gain political points.
It's a dangerous prospect which is likely why President Trump is having this news conference today.
While the virus may not get out of hand, rumors of people dying in large urban centers could cause panic.
Inbound flights from Asia and Europe should be stopped, end of story.
Anything else is just idle chatter.
Good idea, the media and the anti-Trumpers literally have cause a PANIC.
If he says any of this bullshit about the normal flu, you will know it’s here...and we are screwed.
I am not suggesting we are all gonna die. I am not saying anyone is going to die.
I am saying these grammar school arguments satisfy the less intelligent. But anyone who has followed this objectively know this is not the flu. The actions of countries demonstrate a much more serious problem.
In the end, I think Trump, the CDC, and the rest of our government will lie to our faces to calm the herd...right up to the point where the herd cannot be calmed.
Maybe Rosenstein’s sis Nancy at CDC could explain everything to us.
And quarantine those ill and we will have it all but contained. This panic is devious.

If I have read this once, I have read it fifty times on this site. Posters really think they have cut a big hog when they sagely, originally, point that out.

Have you demanded that Trump, or any president, “get in front” of a flu epidemic every winter, which kills many more people in the United States every year?
Has anyone ever made an attempt to describe precisely how Trump can get in front of this that he already has not done? It is a new virus, seeded around the world by the Chinese. Trump was accused of racism, basically, when he stopped flights from China by the very people who now say he is not doing anything about the spread of the virus.
Whatever Trump, has done or will do, it will always come up short if you listen to the MSM or Intelligence agencies, or the CDC, which gave an alarmist briefing while Trump was out of the country. And, to my idiot senator John Kennedy, respirators will not stop the virus from spreading.
The border patrol has been issued respirators because Chinese are sneaking across the border, kept opened by the very people condemning Trump for the way he is handling the disease.
Trump is normally incredibly savvy, but I think he’s made a huge mistake with his “nothing to worry about” rhetoric re: coronavirus. It could prove to be a liability for him in the election.

What drives me crazy is their claiming we have zero community transmission here when we’ve only tested in the hundreds who, by definition had a link to travel in China, so they couldn’t be classified as having caught it by community transmission!
Every time Trump quotes such low numbers in the US, he damages his credibility on this.
I fear he hasn’t been getting good info on this. I hope he does today.
