President Trump said in an early-morning tweet on Wednesday that he will hold a news conference at 6 p.m. to address his administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the post, he continued to blame the media and Democrats for overstating the danger of the disease, even as health experts have warned of its spread.
Trump accused MSNBC and CNN of "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible." The president initially misspelled the name of the virus.
He insisted the U.S. is "in great shape" in its handling of the disease, adding that he and health officials will hold a news conference at the White House on Wednesday evening.

What mess? How many people have been infected in America?
including honesty about the real numbers and deaths in China.
WTH are you talking about? It's President Trump business to run China too?
Since when?
He’s been taking actions but so many false-flag scare stories are out there that nobody can seem to settle down...taking normal Flu season precautions is best bet.
I see you are still in full concern-troll mode - perhaps you and Mariner can team up....
“What mess? How many people have been infected in America?”
We have no idea. CDC only has working tests in 5 states at this point and guidance that says ONLY people with recent travel to China get tested. South Korea has run nearly 100K tests. We’ve run less than 500.
In spite of the fact that Italy, South Korea and Japan already have a lot of cases with no Chinese contact at all.
YES!
Mr. President, I’m afraid that you’re going to have to cancel all remaining trips out of the country until this election is over.
It’s clear that the Deep State will always strike when you aren’t here to defend yourself.
it is terrifying to even contemplate. we can both name governments that would have done exactly that, put in this situation, had they had the option.
Absolutely 100% agreed.
But this will be a really TOUGH lesson to learn.
The beatings have already begun.
Denying them is pointless.
Having said that, if you use any P&G products and have ready cash, might want to get that extra bottle of Dawn. When supply chains DO move, things will likely cost more.
Ya.
That’s far down the line of ‘get Trump’ at this point.
Likely be longer than later this year to move some of those supply chains. Taking months or years to build factories elsewhere along with all the manufacturing equipment that goes in them.
It’s our turn and they may not survive.
So we have to assume it's huge?
Has there been any sudden rise in people dying across America?
Nope
” CDC only has working tests in 5 states at this point and guidance that says ONLY people with recent travel to China get tested.”
Which is exactly what the UK government, the German government and almost every other government outside Asia is doing.
Nobody is testing all their citizens. Not even China
South Korea has run nearly 100K tests. Weve run less than 500.”
Yeah because Korea shares borders with China with vastly more human traffic.
We don't.
Chuckle!
Nicely done.
“Has there been any sudden rise in people dying across America?”
Actually we have no idea of that either.
Give it another month or six weeks to see.
It takes nearly a month for this virus to kill.
The reality is it’s coming. Cases are spreading worldwide from Italy now, including now in Africa and South America. Airline Travel should have been shut down the moment things got out of control in WuHan. That will be the lesson of this pandemic.
It’s foolish to say, well, it’s going to spread everywhere anyway we shutting down air travel could have delayed it and entire year or perhaps six more months and allowed other countries to get ready, protective gear, and most likely a successful treatment regimen in place, maybe even a vaccine.
I would say the CDC and WHO have acted extremely irresponsibly and everyone in the CDC should be fired after this is over, if they live through it.
It was always risky to stake so much on the stock market, which goes down as well as up, of course.
Everyone knows however that he’s been great for the economy. As long as he is seen as being great in dealing with the coronavirus, he’ll be fine.
Also, the Fed has had a hand in puffing up the market which is frothy at this point. We’re back up to record valuations, so it is bound to come down. It is probably less damaging to Trump if it floats down some with the coronavirus news.
Coronavirus has been circulating throughout China and greater Asia since at least early December (probably longer). If it’s as transmissible and deadly as many are proclaiming, where are the millions of dead bodies? We should be seeing tens to hundreds of thousands of dead across Europe as well.
