Richard White has won the special election in Rowan County for the vacant 99th district Kentucky House Seat.
White will replace longtime Representative Rocky Adkins, who resigned his seat when appointed as Senior Advisor to Governor Rocky Adkins.
With 100% of precincts reporting White won with 4,750 votes to Redwines 3,731.
Redwine won Rowan County, 2,549 votes to White's 2,040 votes
White has won in Lewis County by a vote of 2,056 to 394.
Redwine won Elliott county 788 to 654.
If current totals are certified, White will take up the seat in the House immediately.
Both men also are candidates in the May 2020 primary.
Are there TWO Rocky Adkins?? a Rep. and a Gov??
White actually did better than Trump did in Lewis County. Amazing result.
Lewis County provided all of his margin and more. The Rats are getting CRUSHED in these rural areas.
No, that’s a mistake from the reporter. Beshear is the Gov. of Kentucky.
Well, let’s call it a nice start!
Once again, it’s a travesty that Matt Bevin lost the governorship to Beshear.
Winning! More please.
JoMa
And Beshear is a Democrat. Matt Bevin lost to him last Fall.
One less seat we need to flip this November in order to regain control of Congress. This is indeed good news.
i believe this is a state seat...not congressional...
This is a KY state house seat...this is not a federal election.
This was for a seat in Kentuckys legislative body.
This is a State legislature seat.
These numbers show that any other Republican would have won in a landslide.
Is there an electoral undercurrent the MSM is not seeing or ignoring???
I love hearing MAGA stories.
No nooo... When Dems were flipping long held seats in GOP territory in 2017 the press was all a flutter with stories about how this indicated that Democrat support was swelling and informing the public as to how tides were turning.
I’m sure if the GOP were winning seats like this in special elections (and others in the past few weeks) we would be properly informed by our media the fourth pillar of government!

The more republicans we have the more we can redistrict Kentucky. The Democrat Governor does not have a veto over redistricting(so I have been told). So we should be able to chop Yarmouth”s district right down the middle and eliminate the last Dem in Kentucky!
Ignoring. Every single R-D flip in 2017 and 2018 was front page news. The GOP flipped more seats from the Rats in 2019 and it was completely ignored. -3 D +2 GOP and +1 Independent.
And the is without the Bernie factor...
