AFAIK, this is the best response there’s ever been to an epidemic. The rapid sequencing of the virus genome really helped.
And of the 80,000 known infections, 28,000 are recovered.
And of the people who've been through the full course of the disease, 30,595, "only" 8.9%, that's 2,708, have died...
