I've thought all along that the last thing Biden wants is to be President. Too much work, too many responsibilities, no privacy, etc., etc.

Biden has been and continues as a placeholder -- a safety valve of sorts -- to provide an "insurance policy" (sound familiar?) to give the Democrat/Left Party a way around nominating a candidate (e.g., the Old Communist; Butt-giggly; Gray Beaver) who is far too controversial and far too extreme to win in the Electoral College and who would drag the entire ticket down in November.
