It is a trick; they are either trying to infiltrate the Republican Party, or just making sure they get re-elected with their NOT CONSERVATIVE views in the next election with an R after their name.
Same thing happened here in California, just remember AHHNOLD ran as a Republican, legislated like a GREENIE DEMONRAT.

But Arnold wasn’t a stealth Democrat, he was THE candidate backed by the National and California GOP establishment.
Grassroots conservatives who had just recalled Gray Davis were backing Tom McClintock. But the GOPe wanted a socially liberal puppet and they put all of their money and effort behind Arnold. RINO mouthpiece Hugh Hewitt was pushing Arnold every day on his radio show, telling people McClintock couldn’t win.
And Arnold isn’t even the worst candidate for governor the GOP establishment has pushed on California voters. Go look at Neel Kashkari, the Hindu Obama. Kashkari even voted for Obama and and backs most of the social legislation pushed by progressives.
