Former Bill Clinton adviser Dick Morris said on 970 AM New York City’s “The Cats Roundtable” that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) “will get massacred” in 2020 by President Donald Trump.
Morris said, “Let me be clear: Bernie will get massacred by Trump. We’re not just talking about a minor defeat here. We’re talking about they lose the House. I think in the Senate, they could lose up to 60 seats. They could have up to 60 seat Republican majority, supermajority. I think that Bernie will get destroyed. I think the worst presidential defeat since McGovern.”

The projection that Morris makes is probably accurate. Yet it is chilling that the Democratic Party will nominate a vile communist as its nominee. What is even more sobering is that more than 40% of American voters will for whatever reason actually vote for this abomination.
Dick Morris is ALWAYS wrong?
Maybe not always, but often enough, to say this is no sure thing yet for Trump.
A lot of formerly solidly Democrat voters are choosing to walk away, though, and if they do not vote, that is a half-vote for Trump, and if they do surrender to their doubts entirely, then it becomes a crossover. Maybe not forever, but the pattern is at a little bit frayed around the edges.

Yesterday Morris is saying that Bloomberg and Clinton are plotting to get her the nomination. Now if Sanders with the nomination, not Clinton, and he’s going to get creamed. Why anyone in their right mind would believe anything Morris has to say is beyond me.
I’m not so sure Dick. Over 50% of the country are now the takers.
I do not believe this election against Sanders would be easy.
I think Morris the Cat has a better track record than Dick.
I don’t think Trump can win California, as it is a lost cause. Same with Chicago and New York.
However, I think everything else is in play for him.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if in the final week before a presidential election one of the candidates dies of a heart attack.
COVID is the wild card in all this. What a remarkable coincidence it ramps up globally now, eight months before the election. This could be Katrina times 1,000 and the federal government response is looking quite ineffectual and late.
We may get our first communist president yet. Actually, it would be #2 after Obumbler.

what will sink bernie are remarks like he said about castro. bernie cant help himself. he is a castro in beliefs and it is chilling.
when castro rode into town, they cheered and celebrated.. it all turned to tears and escape... when he said he was a commie.

However I do believe that Sanders best opportunity was in 2016. We have a booming economy now and people will be less likely to choose a fantasy approach as they might have done in 2016.

Then, in 2012, I thought “His record is horrendous. There is NO WAY this guy gets re-elected.”

I think Sanders can win a dozen states. Sanders isn’t an anomaly outsider populist. He’s been in politics for 40 years.
Bernie’s more the leader of the pack of socialist loons. He was there early but with Cultural Marxism infecting the education system more were destined to follow.
Well, statistically most FReepers are also often “wrong”, that doesn’t mean we can’t discuss the IDEAS presented. This is a discussion forum.
I’d believe it if anyone but Dick Morris said it.
An election against Sanders would not even be competitive. Sanders would have absolutely no chance whatsoever. To win against Trump, a Democrat would need Obama-like turnout within their party. Sanders would break all-time low records. Trump would dominate independents, and Republicans would vote in unprecedented numbers.
An absolute blowout.
the blacks went to the polls in droves for obama.. and as much as i cant stand him, he has a charisma that fools them .. bernie has no charisma.. only freebies.. and a pointing finger that wags with every angry word.
