Elizabeth Warrens straggling campaign is cutting ad buys worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in key early states after bruising losses in Iowa and New Hampshire.
The retrenchment follows a dismal fourth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday, down from third place in Iowa.
We were hoping for a better result in New Hampshire, Warrens campaign conceded in an email to supporters Wednesday. It hurts to care so much, work so hard, and still fall a little short.
The campaign has cut more than $300,000 worth of ads in Nevada and South Carolina, according to two advertising trackers. The Massachusetts U.S. senator appears to be shifting her focus to Maine, with ad buys worth tens of thousands of dollars there on Wednesday, according to FCC filings

She’s not dropping out, this is actually smart work by her campaign staff.
She should target all her ad buys and campaign time in states where she has the best chance to rake in delegates. SC and Nevada are not those states.
She already knows she isn’t going to be the nominee, but she also knows nobody else is. There is a very strong possibility that by convention time, nobody has enough delegates to win the nom.
Back-room sleazy deal time. She combines her delegates with Sanders or whoever, and gets herself on the ticket as the VP.
Warren has been working Minnesota a fair amount over the last year. We have a caucus system that’s pretty similiar to Iowa’s.
Sanders has been working Minnesota even harder. From what I’m seeing from friends on the other side of the fence, his people are wound up to vote.
Haven’t seen much from Buttgag here - although the loud and always active LGBTQ wing of the local Dem party is probably behind him.
Klobuchar is hard to figure out. You’d think she’s the local favorite but from the limited things I’ve been seeing, she’s not put much into Minnesota. If Warren keeps fading, she’d me the beneficiary of Warren’s feminist supporters.
Dems in MN are doing a primary this year
I know. So is the GOP.
But the Dem candidates have been working the caucus lists really hard. Those are the hardcore leftists - the ones who’ll 99% show up in the primary.
We should not forget Warren is a pathological liar.
If Klobo has a better showing than she does after the delegates are counted on Super Tuesday, I would predict Warren drops out immediately.
Otherwise Warren will stay on the Trail of Tears fighting for the womyn voters....
