Anyone else notice that for every person convicted of “lying”, they NEVER report what the exact lie was, or how they determined that the person was lying, i.e. knew what they were testifying was incorrect?
Everyone has in their mind a general idea of what constitutes a lie, but not a specific definition. To me, you have to consciously know that what you are saying is false, which seems to me difficult to prove. ( unless you believe in mind readers.)
It's in the indictment, or other charging document.
Stone was stupid to even answer questions as he did to Congress. And he had his attorney(s) present! But he doesn't deserve the sentence that was recommended.
