I think because it is a given that Trump will be the R candidate, but over 118,000 turned out in the cold NH weather to vote for him anyway.

The chart is for how many primary votes did an incumbent received.
Trump broke Obama’s record in Iowa and now broke it in New Hampshire.
Republicans are turning out in the primaries to vote for Trump stronger than ever before.

Nobody goes to the polls and votes for an unopposed incumbent on your party's ticket. I don't. What's the point? But, what's "stunning" is that people are actually going to the polls at 2X previous rates to vote for Trump in a primary where he is the only name on the GOP ticket for the primary. It shows a higher than normal level of enthusiasm and support for the incumbent.
