“Paid cash for all of my cars since day 1.”
I have had only one “new” car in my 65 years. I regret buying it. It was a 2010 TDI. Fantastic performer. Uncomfortable on long rides. Extremely expensive for standard maintenance. It was built to be a throwaway.
All other cars have been bought from family or friends. With the exception of a ‘56 Studebaker and ‘48 Plymouth.
There are so many wonderful, low mileage cars out there that it is hard to believe anyone would take the 33% instant loss by getting a new car.
My next car will likely be a 12 cylinder flathead Lincoln. (So I can drive my dad to drinkin.’ If you get the reference.)
