Michael Bloomberg Circa 2015 Justifies Russia’s Invasion Of Crimea

Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg justified Russia’s invasion of Crimea, according to his own recently-surfaced 2015 remarks.

Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin highlighted Bloomberg’s comments from an appearance at the Aspen Institute with moderator Jennifer Bradley.

Bloomberg began by comparing Russia’s move to annex Crimea to the United States annexing California from Mexico in 1848. “What would America do if we had a continuous country and a lot of people in that country wanted to be Americans. Does California ring a bell? We just went and took it.”

There are lots of FReepers that consider Russia’s Crimean adventure legitimate, too.

So Bloomberg gets one right - even if the Bidens and Hillary aren’t happy about it.

While outside International Law (now THAT’s a joke if I ever head one), their historical claim to Crimea is in the over 1/2 million Russian military graves there.

And a total of over 1 million buried in Ukraine.

So yeah, it’s theirs.

On this one, gotta agree with Bloomberg

70 years ago the people of Crimea never voted to be handed over by Krushchev as a gift to Ukraine

Which was pretty much a meaningless gesture, since it was all still controlled by Moscow.

Were there an honest referendum, the Crimean people would prob vote overwhelmingly to remain a part of Russia.

The West is unlikely to ever allow such a referendum.

Like California, Crimea was briefly independent before deciding to become part of Russia again.

Bloomberg is not only a rich, arrogant elitist, but also a history ignoramus. This makes him both stupid and dangerous.

Russia is the protector of Iran’s nuclear facilities with their selling Iran S400 and/or 500 Anti-aircraft defense systems. Russia also lets Red China, No. Korea and probably Pakistan aid Iran’s nuclear weapons programs By not stopping them, which they could through various military and economic means.

The US can take out Iran’s nuclear facilities WITHOUT the help of Russia. The Israelis, who have some experience in this field, would also help.

Bloomberg is a revisionist mini-Marxist expansionist. We Jews call him a KAPO ( derived from a few Jews who cooperated with the Nazis in taking the possessions of fellow Jews, esp. in Hungary - I.e. George Soros, who were rounded up and deported to the death camps of Belzec, Sobibor or Auschwitz to their deaths).

Bloomberg is a KAPO, my fellow Jews. Let him know it. Let the public know it, only he’s a Marxist KAPO re America, helping the fake Democrat Marxists/socialists of Bernie Sanders, Peter Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, fools like Tom Steyer and Amy Klobuchar, and fascist Joe Biden.

A KAPO will take the gold out of your teeth before you close your mouth. And did. Bloomberg has a pair of pliers in his hands. BEWARE!

Aah yes..., “His ruthless execution of many people during the purges exercised by Stalin earned Khrushchev the name, “The Butcher of the Ukraine.” It was thus interesting that after World War II and especially after Stalin’s death in 1953, Khrushchev was openly critical of Stalin’s policies, including the purges”.

That Lenin and Stalin continued the Czar’s forced migration of Russian nationals into Ukraine has NOTHING to do with those graves, right?

Wow.

“That Lenin and Stalin continued the Czar’s forced migration of Russian nationals into Ukraine has NOTHING to do with those graves, right?”

I’m talking about Soviet and Russian soldiers.

Not civilians.

And yes, I contend all of Ukraine is Russia’s to do with as they please. And I certainly do not support the US creating some mumbo jumbo about how we have ANY interest there.

Because we don’t.

I’m talking about Soviet and Russian soldiers.

So was I, they were compelled to move there by the Czar and the communist leaders. Their families often were compelled to move there too.

And yes, I contend all of Ukraine is Russia’s to do with as they please.

Let's change TWO words in your sentence, just for giggles.

And yes, I contend all of Ukraine Taiwan/Mongolia/Macao/HongKong is Russia’s China's to do with as they please.

See the problem Ukrainians have with that perspective now?

I don’t care what Ukrainians think.

I’m an American and from my perspective the US has zero interests there.

None.

In fact, no nation surrounding the Black Sea is of any interest to the US. And it’s crazy that many are NATO members. Because there’s no way the US would go to war to protect any of them.

Nor should we.

Bloomberg is an idiot. It’s one thing to say that the US has no interests in that region, as ignorant as that is.

But to justify an illegal annexation is to be isolated from international history.

As long as Putin targets the US and allies itself with rogue nations we need to answer in kind.

Crimea was illegal. It will always be illegal. The sanctions will be permanent as supported by nearly all of Europe.
