Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) made clear in an interview with The Atlantic on Wednesday that he will not vote for President Trump's re-election in November.
Driving the news: Romney sent shockwaves through Washington after announcing he would vote to convict Trump in the impeachment trial — becoming the only Senate Republican to break ranks and vote for the president's removal from office.
"The president delayed funds for an American ally at war with Russian invaders," Romney said in a speech on the Senate floor. "The president's purpose was personal and political. Accordingly, the president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust." Yes, but: Romney also stated that "under no circumstances" would he vote for Sens. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, who could face off against Trump in the general election.
Romney wrote in his wife's name on the ballot in 2016. "She’ll probably get [a] second vote," he told The Atlantic.

Bad things we do will come back to bite us...and I think Romney is worried he’ll be seen as something other than he wants to be seen as- very religious...
I have a theory. WE know hussein spied on candidate Trump. He most assuredly also spied on romney in 2012.

McConnell has done nothing publicly but encourage Romney to obstruct and undermine POTUS. Probably because, like his buddy Lamar Alexander, he agrees with Romney.
The Dems would nominate Romney if they thought he had a chance to win.

I suspect that it's become personal, like Perot's feud with the Bush clan. Ol' Mitt screwed up his chance for a 'presidential legacy', and he apparently detests Mr. Trump, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ran as a third party candidate - stick it to the President, and get a paragraph in the history books, in a single blow. The Dems (obviously) would fund it...

Funny thing is that if McQueeg or Scum Willard had been the official Demonrat candidate for President (instead of being the ringers that they were), they would not have hesitated to go nuclear on an actual Conservative Republican opponent. Just not against their fellow Demonrats.
