This guys tweets are a reminder that we not only have to defeat the leftists but a whole bunch of dumbassery on the "right":

I’ve now had a chance to see bits of and skim through Trump’s East Room speech. Appalling. But what of all those people—members of Congress, Cabinet officials—who clapped and laughed and cheered? What of Trump’s willing accomplices?

Needless to say, neither Trump nor his family was “put through a terrible ordeal.” He golfed and his kids grifted during impeachment just as they had before, and just as they will continue to do after.

Reagan was good. Dole wasn't horrible. The others weren't much good. For me, though, it's more about the decisions they made and the qualities they had or didn't have than about ideologies or factions or wings.

If the first Bush had paid more attention to the economy or the second Bush had stayed out of an unnecessary war, kept spending down, and dealt with the housing bubble and shaky financial situation, I wouldn't complain much about them.

McCain and Romney were more deeply flawed. But the party could have nominated and elected people who were seen as "true conservatives" and people would still find things to complain about.

What Kristol doesn't see is that most conservatives and most Republicans weren't at all enthusiasts for McCain or Romney or Bush I. They were only supported because they weren't Democrats (I remember more enthusiasm for Bush II - that's something people will have to come to terms with for themselves).
