Actually it worked pretty good for the Nazis. They ended up in control.
YMMV but most of the world was a little disappointed with the results of the NAZI’s political success over the commies.
As for how the NAZIs felt about it I guess that would have depended on whether you asked them how they were doing in 1933 or in 1945.
