It was not diagnosed until a few weeks ago. Otherwise he would have been receiving chemo, etc., all this time. Just like my wife diagnosed in late stage 4 in 2018 — it creeps up on you incrementally over a long interval of time. No one thing that stands out as cancer. Just gradual change you accept as aging or whatever. Blood tests normal until almost the very end.
Last June was a long time ago tho. A lot can happen in 6 months.
