Remember 2008 when all of us were cheering for Obama (over Hillary)? We loved the fact that Hillary was getting her head handed to her by this nobody community organizer from Chicago who never had a real job in his life. All of us were sure that he would get crushed in November by whoever the Republicans put up.
Well we all know how that turned out.
Now we have another ne'er do well who never had a real job in his life that has promised his followers to redistribute OUR money to pay off their loans, give them free healthcare and soak all the "rich" people for everything they have. The "rich" pretty much being anybody making over $40k a year.
Well as you state, there are millions of young people drowning in college (and other) debt who will crawl through broken glass to vote for Bernie.
Now I'm pretty confident that Trump will beat Breadline Bernie handily in November (he's no McCain or Romney) but I will not sit well with the fact that an out-and-out Communist can get so close to the presidency.
Also, and I'm sorry to bring this up, nobody knows what will happen to Trump between now and November. Many of us were stunned by the Rush Limbaugh health news today. Rush is 69. But Trump is 73. Nobody is immortal. So if Bernie is nominated by the Democrats, all of us must pray for President Trump's good health.
But that's the only appeal he has. More reasonable Democrats, if there is such a thing, don't want anything to do with him. Likewise, the DNC itself would rather Bernie go away. If the DNC pulls more shenanigans like they did to ensure Hillary was the candidate; Bernie supporters will stay home again. That fringe element wants all or nothing.
