“One of the hardest things about growing older is the amazing people you lose as time moves along.”

That is so true.

I take it the server slowdown was due to this news coming out.

I do too, but the man is insightful. Some folks just don’t get it.

He needs to hand up the microphone with his formerly nicotine stained fingers, and spend time with his family and friends

Peter Jennings comes to mind, as he went on TV to announce he had the same thing, gone within a year.

But as I said on another thread, treatment has gotten better since that time.

Usually, when someone says he or she has, “advanced lung cancer,” how much longer do you the person lives? I had an aunt who learned that she had lung cancer that was caused by exposure to asbestos. She died about 2.5 months later.

I would imagine it varies. For my dad, it was about a year before he passed away. There wasn't a "cure" as it were, just chemo to extend his life to get his affairs in order, which he didn't, he kept working and smoking, doing his thing up until he couldn't get out of bed and died at home. I think they give you a probability range depending on the type and location of the cancer tumor, and if it has spread in your body, like the lymph nodes. If it has spread, the range or life span decreases.

He said “advanced”.He’ll surely get the finest health care available...but even the most skilled physicians and surgeons can only do so much in certain situations.

When diagnosed is probably the most important. Early detection, even if it is the most deadly, can be treated....arrested for a time for sure. The positive news is there are many more treatments available today than say five years ago. I know Rush will find the best course. All we can do is offer prayers and hope for the best...God will take care of the rest.

shocked.

I have followed him since his first week in Sacramento

My three all-time radio people in 68 years of listening: Harvey, Imus, Limbaugh. Of the three, Limbaugh is the most essential to the well-being of the country.

Rush mentioned today that his heart was very, very strong. Actually Rush appears to be a very healthy guy for his age and capable of handling the rigors of treatment. The odds of recovery rely heavy on one’s overall health. I’m praying that Rush fights hard and beats cancer. He has spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours donating to the Leukemia Society. If anyone deserves remission, it’s brother Rush.
