It should be mentioned here that anyone who has smoked or still does and is over a certain age, should get an annual Low Dose CT scan because you are in a high risk group. It should be paid by your insurance and definitely is with Medicare.......
I'm a smoker and have recently had my second annual scan which came up negative......

I just had a catscan last week due to breathlessness and coughing. I was holding my breath as I quit smoking 21 years ago and always prayed it was soon enough. Fortunately it looks like a combo of allergies and mild to moderate asthma.
If you don’t smoke don’t start.
