A revised spending budget released right after the acquittal vote would be even more dramatic. Maybe cut the federal labor force down to sequester emergency levels. That doesn't mean putting Barrycades up at memorials. Just reduce the spending and the headcount, which necessarily reduces the mischief the government can do.

And propose that Congress join in by reducing their staff counts. Maybe the members could write legislation themselves instead of having 26-year-old life-experience-deprived staffers writing law. They can all rely in spell-check, and Bernie Sanders could use a calculator or Excel to figure out how muck his programs will cost. At least until his next heart attack.
