Collins and Romney will vote to acquit and claim that they wanted Bolton to testify so the Dems couldn’t claim it was an unfair trial in the Senate. We know they hate the President.
The impeachment is aimed at control of the Senate. Confirmation of judges is at stake, especially the replacement of RBG. Big gamble for the Dems. Impeachment is a two- edged sword. Their candidates must defend why they tried to remove a duly elected President to nullify the 2016 election and to remove Trump from the 2020 ballot. Trump voters will be energized as never before. With a little luck, the Durham investigation into the origins of the Russia hoax will place impeachment in the context of an attempted coup.
