What is required to actually call for the vote? I say Just call for the verdict and if Susan and Mitt want to vote to convict then let them. All the 5-8 who want witnesses can vote to convict and they can take that up with constituents***
call for the vote
CALL FOR THE VOTE!
This is the Senate, witnesses were for the house.
VOTE!
Absolutely not. Apparently, Toomey had his head up Mitt’s askmewhere when Starr was explaining the constitutional role of the Senate and House in an impeachment inquiry.
NO Atkinson testimony ...Then go to the vote.
That’s why the first witness for the defense in this case should be Michael Atkinson, the Inspector General who handled the “whistleblower” complaint.
There’s a reason why his secret testimony is the only transcript Schiff has not released in any form. *****
Exactly
Demand the release of the Atkinson transcript and if the dems do not release it (It’s exculpatory) CALL FOR THE VOTE!
THIS!
Every one look at it.
McConnell needs to step up and put an end to this coup. That’s what it is, a coup. The whole thing is unconstitutional and invalid, as the defense team so brilliantly explained yesterday.
Trump .... should get the snakes out of the WH
Obama has too many assets in the WH and alphabet orgs.
DRAIN THE SWAMP!
Is he waiting to gets re-electing...then he will have more flexibility?
Could be, but he needs to act on many things now to drain the swamp.
Been wondering if they were left in place for a good reason? Too convenient to have Bolton (nice guy, but he didn’t get along with some people according to Trump) exit while leaving these known saboteurs in place.
My statement mentioned both the House and the Senate, despite the obvious fact that they are no longer the majority party in the House. And if you go back to Paul Ryan and Blubberin’ John Boehner before him, it’s pretty obvious that neither wanted any part of acting like a majority leader.
McConnell has done a good job approving Trump’s judges, but his handling of impeachment has been mediocre, at best. He’s had some decent moments, but when push comes to shove, he 1) had to agree to a procedure change on his first day of the trial, and 2) they are caving on witnesses because he can’t hold them together.
That's not a leadership problem. That's a rank-and-file problem.
