The first case of novel coronavirus was confirmed in Orange County Saturday, health officials said.
The Orange County Health Care Agency's Communicable Disease Control Division, which received confirmation from from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said the infected person is a traveler from Wuhan, China.
The respiratory disease has sickened 1,975 people and killed 56, almost all in Wuhan.

The patient was transported to a local hospital and is isolation in good condition, according to officials.
Health officials said there was no evidence that person-to-person transmission has occurred in the county, and that the current risk of local transmission remains low.
It was immediately clear where and how the traveler entered into the country or county.
A passenger who landed at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday night was hospitalized for a precautionary medical evaluation amid increased concerns over the viral infection.

It seems now that the virus can be sneezed, remain airborne, then land in your eyes and infect you.
I don’t think folks with symptoms should go to hospitals, that will just lead to mass infections.
Home care/quarantine for this one, maybe.
Masks and GOGGLES.
Modern public hygiene won’t help if hospitals become mass incubators of an airborne virus you can catch through your eyes.
Does anyone not think this was done on purpose? Soros...Clinton... China...Jarrett??? CIA? Dumpster fire...chaos...currency...trade...impeachment not going their way...
Conspiracy flu outbreaks often get brought up. They never go far.
Part of this blame is the fact that in this modern era (the past fifty years)....air travel is a major part of the whole story. I can take one single infected guy on a Hong Kong to Sydney flight (nine hours), and probably infect twenty people. Within five days, those twenty can probably infect another twenty each. And so it spreads.
Evidently it can also remain viable on surfaces for hours.

If people can catch a common cold, they can catch this
Except this one loads virus and kills the host
Sounds like a Chinese hospital is the last place you want to go if you have cold symptoms.

that remains to be see . It sounds like the sicker cases develop frank pneumonia and ARDS which is also what happened with H1N1. We will see how severe it is now that we have a couple of cases. So far it does not seem like any individual is too sick but it is early.
An open sewer? Uh, no.
How about the guy that sat in the same seat on the next flight? This is out of the bag and impossible to track
