That is a possibility since testing for the virus is not available in most first world labs and certainly not in 3rd world countries. - Tom

Yep, certainly possible. Worse (for us) is the Chinese presence in the Panama Canal Zone. A pandemic spreading in Central America would have ugly consequences.
