Why is it so quiet in the loser's locker room? Yeah, it's like that.
Later will come the blaming, the denying, the excuses ("everybody knows we really should have won, but...").
Later we can deny the truth, the facts, the evidence because we can call all the witnesses we like, and not call the witnesses we don't like, and they don't have to swear to tell the truth, and they won't.
And we can say "everyone knows he's guilty" because we don't have to prove anything at all, either that he's guilty or that everyone believes it.
We can say WE WON, after they turn the scoreboard off.

Lol ain’t that the truth! I turned BOTH games off at the half because they were losing and I was sure they could not come back against the Pats. You can imagine my stunned surprise when I woke up the following morning to find out they had won.
