The network news rooms are run by the likes of Ben Rhodes, John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, The Harff family, and an endless bunch of former Obama staffers. So the answer is just like anyone else, they are trying to do what their boss wants.
In 1990's the political pipeline was stacking the colleges with former Clintonistas running them. Reich, Shalayla, Reno, etc... by the hundreds.
