While this is pretty extreme, food service is replete with all kinds of corner-cutting by restaurant operators trying to survive or eke out a profit. One of my favorite shows is Kitchen Nightmares.

What I’d like to find out about is the disgusting personal habits that anyone may have observed. Do they reflexively lick their palms and shake your hand every time you see them? Do they hawk up loogies on the carpet?

A Chinese restaurant in my area was closed down a few years ago because of rats.

It’s now a pizza joint.

Reminds me of the story my mom told me while was in Spain many years ago. She found the pits of chewed olives in her food.
