In a standard legal proceeding, yes, they should recuse. But in today’s political climate, it is unreasonable to think ANY politician can be “impartial”. Look at the House vote on articles of impeachment. Look at all the straight party line votes yesterday. The oath of impartiality is a joke, and the trial a political circus. The Republicans should have exercised their power and dismissed rather than subject the nation to this divisive, politically motivated act of desperation from Pelosi, Schiff and company.
