So will the Rats be allowed to bring up new evidence in their opening remarks to score PR points?
Bob Barr last night on Fox was shocked that Trumps lawyers didnt object to it during last evenings circus
I dont think the White House council really cares what particular pieces of evidence or testimony the Democrats introduce - because the President isnt guilty of anything. Nothing they introduce can hurt him.
What they DO care about is the optics - their goal is total exoneration of the President and utter humiliation of the Democrats.
A quick dismissal would have been nice, but even if it drags on for a few weeks thats OK too, assuming the final decision is mostly partisan. If the vote is along party lines (53/47 or close to it) that exonerates the President because it exposes the entire impeachment as politically motivated.
I think the first day was a disaster for the Democrats because they appeared pushy and unprepared. Nobody will watch the Democrats opening arguments the rest of the week because they overstayed their welcome - wasting everyones time with pointless rules amendments.
People might tune in Saturday for the White House opening arguments out of curiosity.
I dont think that the Presidents defense is allowed to speak during the Houses presentation. By the time their rebuttal of the Dems lies come in a few days. people wont even remember what lies were told. Those who dont like Trump will believe the lies just as they have done up to now. Schiff and his willing accomplices in the MSM seem to be able to lie without consequence.
