There’s a chance of reducing auto deaths from 40k or so per year to maybe in the hundreds. But the tech luddites on here are too blind by far to see it. Of course it’ll take more testing but eventually it’ll be like flying. At first fairly bad but over time the safest way.
But will be able to drive on streets covered with feces that will happen after it starts overflowing the sidewalks in a couple of years?
The only thing worse than dying in a self drive vehicle is dying in one that looks that.

I never saw it explained how those are supposed to get through a construction site or emergency detour where the people running the scene don’t even know how a person is supposed to get through it. I run into those more often than I would like and have to do some quick thinking in those situations. .

What happens when it skids on fresh feces in the streets and gets in an accident? Who will the injured passenger sue?
