The military has been besieged by Political Correctness for decades to the point now where every officer and non-com is examined on their knowledge not of military tactics and history by the latest whims of all the multiplying minority interest groups.
The military promotes people who are much better social engineers / SJWs than they are war fighters and leaders.
It has been observed that adequate or even marginal leaders and warriors but who are SJW crusaders who drank all the Kool Aid are promoted with enthusiasm.
On the other hand, great leaders who are equally great war fighters but who scoff at the SJW crap are simply cast aside.
