"He is a gun controller and I’ll never agree with him on that."

If that's true, I will never understand how patriots like him don't support the right of individual self-defense. What goes wrong in such a mind? He and others just had proof how "carry" stopped the carnage in a church just days ago. It's been proven many times throughout the years.

There are countless examples from local/state LE and the FBI how a gun prevented the worse scenario. I read it almost every week right here.

U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, who once had an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association, says Congress should — and will — pass new gun restrictions in the aftermath of the most recent mass shootings, in El Paso and Dayton. The South Florida Republican said universal background checks would become law. And, he said, restrictions on assault weapons could pass also.

South Florida Republican Congressman Brian Mast Predicts Washington Will Pass Meaningful Gun Laws After Mass Shooting

I respect that Mast has served our Country and lost both legs in the process but there is something about this guy that should not be trusted. I don’t want to expand on the things about him that bother me but suffice to say, this issue alone is big enough for me.
