Makes me ashamed to be a Freeper, to see so many advocating cowardice on this thread.
The Virginia state legislature and its governor are preparing to enact new laws that will strip the citizens of Virginia of nearly all of their second amendment rights, and people here want Virginians to show up to the capitol with empty holsters.
Do you people not realize how serious a threat this is? Do you honestly believe that brandishing toy guns, empty mags, and holsters, is going to scare those leftist tyrants one iota?
I’m stunned that so many people on this board actually do.
The people have a perfect right to openly bear arms while engaging in peaceful, lawful protest of these draconian and illegal measures. Nothing else will send a message with the necessary degree of amplitude, than exercising our 2nd Amendment RIGHTS
The problem with being armed at the rally is the following: antifa will be there, BLM will be there along with the few rebel-MFer’s still clinging to their long dead horse. All of these groups are looking to start a war. From what I have been told by a Va state trooper almost the entire force of VSP will be at the rally. Northam is praying that the 2A people show up with guns, because it will be easier to manufacture an “incident” that would allow him to declare martial law and have the Nat’l Guard clamp down on the state.
Northam has already issued an executive order that bans firearms from the capitol building. Tomorrow morning he's expected to issue another order banning firearms from the entire capitol grounds.
If he was really looking to set up the conditions whereby Antifa (or some other goon squad) could manufacture a firearms related incident, he's curiously making it harder to do.
No, the truth is, they're honestly scared to death of the prospect of facing tens of thousands of armed and angry citizens. A force of fifty-thousand armed citizens could not be dislodged or moved in any way, by all the state forces that could quickly be mustered. Even the National Guard would blink, if faced with that.
That, and only that, is the reason Northam is issuing that order tomorrow.
I'm also sick and tired of people using the excuse of, "We'll lose the moral high ground if we show up armed and something bad happens!" Something bad has already happened, which is why this website even exists. And those bad somethings have continued to multiply and compound throughout our lifetimes.
Meanwhile, the good, productive, and peaceful citizens on the right, continue backing up, while the left takes more and more ground every SINGLE day of our lives. At what point do we finally say, "ENOUGH!!" ?
When IS the right time to lock arms and resist? When the jackboots are busting down our doors and loading the Normals into boxcars?
Note that I haven't once advocated violence. I said that patriots should show up to the Jan 20th rally armed. Who cares how the media spins it? They're going to spin it to make us look bad, no matter how we show up. We could arrive walking on our knees, with our heads bent in prayer, and CNN would find some way to make us look like terrorists -- so who the hell are we trying to impress?
They already hate us, and want us DEAD!
You can't reason with people like that. Understand, the whole reason for this confrontation, is because they're openly attemping to disarm us NOW, so that they can do bad things to us in the near future.
You're not going to sway the minds of such people by merely showing up in great numbers. The Tea Party did that back in 2010, and Pelosi and her Democrats just laughed at us.
Here's another thing --- not everyone is going to show up armed anyway. Some will, but in all likelihood, most won't, so our conversation is mostly academic. Personally, I believe it's past time for the Normals to take it notch higher, to show the left that we're done caving in to them, and that we are literally at the breaking point.
Well said, Windflier. I do not advocate violence in any way, this will have to resolved at the USSC. But I believe that Northam is insane, and he will be willing to do anything to get what he wants. Antifa and their ilk are no doubt taking orders from Northam and this could go bad very quickly. I am concerned.
