I believe that’s a Photoshop.
On further research, I’d say you are right—it’s a composite of separate photos taken in 1971 and 1972.
That said, I seem to remember a pic of them together in a different setting. That’s why I searched Google images for “Kerry and Jane Fonda.”
But sometimes my memory plays tricks.
