There are reports that some of the $1.7 billion that Obama gave to Iran as part of the Iran deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has been traced to Iran-backed terror groups, including Qassem Soleimani’s Quds Force, Iran’s principal foreign intelligence and covert action arm and part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. What is not discussed is that the money could not have been funneled to Iran without active support from actors within the Treasury Department.
As a former Treasury Special Agent, the suspect actions of some of my ex-colleagues saddens and dismays me. Their actions also hypocritically counter both our anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist finance programs and the international financial systems and safeguards that Treasury worked hard to implement and protect.
Since 1979 Iran has conducted virtual acts of war and terror against the United States and our allies. The State Department designated Iran as the world’s worst state sponsor of terrorism. Iran is also one of the most corrupt regimes in the world.
So why did some Treasury officials move to obfuscate, if not launder, the money that Obama wanted delivered to the mullahs in Iran? Why did Treasury participate in a quid pro quo or act of bribery? Why would they engage in subsequent deception and cover-up?
The short answer is Treasury willfully became blind and politicized. It wasn’t just the Department of Justice and John Brennan’s CIA that were sullied during the Obama administration.

Obama’s $1.3B giveaway to Iran was paid in cash Jan 22 and Feb 5 from a little-known fund administered by the US Treasury.
The so-called Judgment Fund consists of your tax dollars Congress permanently approved “in the event it’s needed”....(cue laugh machine here)

The Judgment Fund is a permanent, indefinite appropriation available to pay judicially and administratively ordered monetary awards against the United States. The Judgment Fund is also available to pay amounts owed under compromise agreements negotiated by the U.S. Department of Justice in settlement of claims arising under actual or imminent litigation, if a judgment on the merits would be payable from the Judgment Fund. The statutory authority for the Judgment Fund is 31 U.S.C. 1304.
If funds for paying an award are otherwise provided for in the appropriations of the defendant agency, the Judgment Fund may not pay an award. A federal agency may request that payment of an award be made on its behalf from the Judgment Fund only in those instances where funds are not legally available to pay the award from the agency’s own appropriations.
Amounts paid vary significantly from year-to-year. Federal agencies are not required to reimburse the Judgment Fund except when cases are filed under the Contract Disputes Act (CDA) or the No FEAR Act (Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act).

The remaining portion was “negotiated interest”. The Obama treasury made 13 transfers to foreign banks to convert it to cash for the pay-off. The 13 transfers were each $999,999,999.99....just one penny under 1 billion so as not to trigger any safe guards/rad flags.

The irony is breathtaking. DiFi wanted to include PDT’s ordering the killing of the evil Iranian general to be an impeachable offense, but “the previous administration” got away with sending tons of cash to Iran to be used to, among other evil things, kill Americans. I guess all we can hope for is for history to contemplate the misguided tragedy of it all.

Those payments appeared on a website long ago. I don't recall where, and didn't save the link.

A source who served in Iraq and saw the photos told Fox News that Soleimani died in much the same manner as the Americans he killed.

The survivors and the family members of those killed should sue Bush II, Obama and Brennan for failing to do their job to kill the ememy and protect our soldiers/marines on the ground in Iraq!.
Instead, they spied on Candidate Trump, President Elect Trump and even President Trump and allowed this POS/Soleimani, to kill 17% of our US Personnel in Iraq from 2003 to 2011!
