I suspect that this ‘attack’ was part of the discussions - this isn’t World War 1 where you lob and hope, even for Iran.
Also not Trump’s initial response (last night) was not angry.

Please note: This was before the Iranian attack last night. Wouldn't it be interesting to learn that Iran had permission to drop a few poorly placed missiles into the Iraqi desert to save face internally. The cost to the regime would be pretty high... what would they have to give up?
If there is an announcement of unilateral suspension of nuclear development in Iran, you can bet that something like that has happened.
Armchair speculation is pretty worthless but CNN has built an empire on it...
