FAA might have been advising American carriers to not fly over Iran, but this was a Ukrainian plane. Looks like there is normal airline traffic over Iran right now.
It apparently appears the plane was losing parts as it was falling out of the sky. Airplanes don’t shed parts very often unless they are hit by something.
