I doubt many of Iran’s F-14’s are still flying these days.
All they had were “A” models with TF-30’s, AFAIK.
I was talking to a couple of Tomcat jocks in the 1990’s - I noticed they were flying an A model. I asked about it.
One of them replied there were only 60 D models in the inventory at that time. Surprised me.
I think there were gonna be engine upgrades. Back then. Dunno. If only Pukin Dog was still around.
I saw an article a couple of days ago about Iranian aerial strength. It stated that “it is estimated” that the Iranians have only about 20 of the original 79 F-14s purchased 40 years ago in flying condition. I don’t recall who did the estimating.
